Everything was great, except morning shower was not hot. Was told the manager would contact me and to date thy haven't. Will Not stay there on my way back from galapagoes.
No hot water for Morning shower.
Overall the hotel was excellent. The shuttle service was their to pick up and drop us off. Also the hotel was not far from the airport and very central.
Location to inner city Guayaquil and the water front. Breakfast very good.
The crouds outside the hotel can be very confronting in the evenings if you are not used to South American city life.
Toilet, Internet, hot water didn't work. Terrible view. Way over priced! Just a stop over room from flight from usa to Cuenca next morning. Late arrival...just wanted a good nights sleep before heading to Andes and we didn't get it! And we're not picky people, but for $170 we were really disappointed and it set a bad tone for a trip we were really looking forward to! Luckily rest of trip is going great!!
Efficiency of the staff (especially Marco, the manager) to solve issues that came up during our stay in Hampton Inn. That made the entire difference between "just a hotel" to the "hotel that really cares about its customers".
Breakfast ends at 10am, even on weekends. Make it till 11am, at least on weekends.
Nice location, save area, very clean rooms, quick and free wifi connection.
Too small swimming pool (it is more like a bath tub for 3-4 people).
Front desk staff was very slow in everything.
The location, in a very safe street and near the most important touristic attractions: Malecon 2000, St. Ana Church, Cathedral and Handcrafts market.
I requested airport transportation, and nobody showed up to pick us up. I called after 30 minutes and was told that in 10 minutes we will be picked up - once again nobody showed up for another half hour. I was told that the woman at the front desk was 'too busy' to request for someone to pick us up. Also, the rooms need upgrading.
The breakfast was delicious and we were totally spoiled with the fresh fruit, hot empanadas and omelet options, granola and yogurt, fresh juice daily and the best coffee in the world. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating although our room was very small and without a view it was very quiet for sleeping soundly. Thanks!
Free Internet Free Breakfast Staff extremely friendly and helpful
Central location on a busy main street. Good shuttle service to the airport.
The breakfast was beautifully arranged with a variety of hot & cold each day. Muy Bueno! Centrally located near many restaurants and stores within walking distance.
The actual room was fine, good size and clean. Also some of the staff are very friendly. Location is very good as only a few hundred metres from the Malecon. Breakfast was extensive. One could leave the luggage stored there for a few hours before leaving to the airport. I asked the reception to call a taxi to take us to the airport and they did so.
At entry, the person at the reception who "helped us" was very unfriendly, first ignored us, did hardly speak a word of spanish or english to me, just handed a form with some crosses onto it where, according to him, I just had to sign. While I was reading what this form was about he tried to rip it out of my hands. When I indicated that I did not like this, he got the manager as if I was causing trouble. The manager was friendly, so the issue was resolved. Some of the central areas of the building smell, I suspect this is mould. Overall the building seems somewhat "out of date", that is, not as well maintained and fresh as one would expect in a quality hotel. I wanted to use the stairs to go to the room, yet the door was locked and was only unlocked when the manager indicated this. . Ironic as Ecuador had just suffered an earthquake which had affected Guayaquil as well (to a minor extent) and one was not supposed to use the elevator in case of an emergency... so easy access to the stairs seemed logical... Further, the hotel advertises that it has a "piscina" (pool), however this has, literally, the size of about two bathtubs. Most ironically, at the entrance the hotel prominently indicates that it is famous for its 100% satisfaction policy, meaning that you do not have to pay anything if you are not fully satisfied with the service they have provided during your stay. This policy is reiterated in their folder in the room. However, the reception staff insist that you pay the whole stay immediately at entry and prominently check your dollar bills against the light as if you were considered a wanted criminal until proven otherwise. You pay quite a lot for this hotel "by Hilton" which, in my opinion, is just not worth it.
